General Steiner served in the United States Army Reserve in the following capacities: Commander of the 1st Battalion, 409th Infantry, 205th Infantry Brigade in St. Cloud, the 6th Infantry Division (Lt.)(R.O), 88th Army Reserve Command and 88th Regional Support Command, Fort Snelling, MN. He retired in 1997.
