Decoding the Universe: Cosmos

I watched NOVA, Decoding the Universe:Cosmos on TV last night. Yes, I still watch broadcast TV from an antenna. I record things for later viewing on my TiVo so I can skip the commercials. Otherwise TV is unwatchable for me. For the most part PBS has no commercials so I'm safe on Channel 2. But I digress.

If you can watch this NOVA documentary and tell me you're not totally baffled, well you're a lot smarter than me. But I watched anyway and found it fascinating. You can watch it on Youtube, I've included a link below for you.

All this "universe is expanding stuff", dark energy, dark matter, has no practical effect on my life that I know of, but attempting to answer questions about the cosmos has been going on since people first gazed up at the night sky. Speaking of gazing at the night sky...

A place I visit from time to time, Tucson AZ is mentioned a few times in the documentary. Observatories and astronomy are a big part of life in Tucson. Kitt Peak is a few miles out of town and available to tour. I will get there one of these days.

In the meantime check this out. Enjoy!
